In 2013, I spent my ‘summer holidays’ as a patient in the burns unit at the QE hospital in Birmingham. Here a great team helped me rehabilitate to full health, which has allowed me to live a normal life again. Since then, I have spent time as a PPI Advisor on various research projects and trials, using my experience as a burns patient to help with further research. I enjoy these meetings as I feel I am able to give a little bit back.
