Role within the SFF CfCWR
Amirize is a Burns and Plastics Clinical Research Fellow at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham. He is involved in the SiFTi-2, SMOOTH and BOSS-2 trials and upcoming ELABS and VICToRY studies. He will also be working on a project to characterize changes in gut microbiome and microRNA in severe thermal injury.

Biography
Amirize is a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon who joined the team in 2021. He has good experience working in Africa and the Middle East. He was part of a team providing excellent Burns and Plastic Surgery service in one of the largest tertiary centres in the Middle East. Amongst his work in West Africa was providing corrective surgery for children and adults with cleft lips and palates in partnership with Smile Train, a New York based nonprofit organization and charity. He also carried out research in this area. He is a member of the American Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association. He is also an associate member of the American College of Surgeons and has certification on Leadership and Management from the University of Washington, USA.
